Repro Technology, one of the UK’s largest independent pre-press integrators is offering some “IPEX Specials” which will probably leave some of its less cost-conscious competition in tears.

For orders taken at IPEX 98, Repro Technology are offering the A3 Comet Starter System comprising of a high resolution Scangraphic drum imagesetter, high performance PostScript RIP, OPI Server, Linotype Circon scanner and an Epson 3000 A2 proofer for an all-in total price of only £22,700.

The Scangraphic imagesetter is a high quality refurbished internal drum machine capable of outputing perfectly registered four-colour film at resolutions up to 3252 dpi. The output format is 328 x 618mm allowing plenty of room for double page spreads, with crops and colour bars. All the other equipment is brand new.

For those requiring a larger output format there is an A2 Comet Starter System, which contains the same scanner, proofer and RIP/Server with an A2 Scangraphic imagesetter. The imagesetter has an output format of 510 x 618 mm and is capable of imaging 4 x A4 pages with crops and bleeds. Both imagesetters have a maximum speed of 440 square inches a minute. The special show offer on the A2 Starter System is £27,000.
